Councillor Daniel Weber

I am a longstanding resident of the Parkes community. I completed my education at Parkes High School and went on to study Civil Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney. My educational journey also took me abroad to Hong Kong University and mainland China, as well as to postgraduate studies in Infrastructure Asset Management at the University of Tasmania.

Since 2013, I’ve had the privilege of working in Parkes as a Civil Engineer in the field of bridge engineering asset management. But my commitment to our community doesn’t stop at my profession. In December 2021, I was elected as a Councillor for Parkes Shire Council. In this role, I’ve applied my engineering expertise and experience to help enhance the services our council provides. I’ve been particularly focused on improving how our infrastructure—roads, bridges, and water systems—serves our residents.

During my first term, I’m proud to have been part of a Council that has delivered tangible results for the people of Parkes. Working together, we’ve completed several key projects, including:

• The upgrade of Lions Park
• The creation of the Kelly Reserve Splash Park
• The upgrade of the Tullamore Pool
• Parkes Pool amenities upgrades
• Trundle Main Street improvements
• Trundle Skate Park
• The Parkes Pump Track
• The Parkes Hockey Fields upgrade
• And soon, the completion of the Lake Endeavour swimming facilities

If re-elected, I will continue to support projects that positively benefit residents of our Parkes Shire.

This election, I’m running as a Candidate in Group B on the ballot paper, with other individual candidates committed to delivering the following positive outcomes for our community:

• Weekly red bin collection: to improve residential waste services.
• Better roads: By prioritising investments in road maintenance, we can ensure safer and smoother journeys for our residents.
• Advocating for maternity services at Parkes Hospital: Every family deserves access to high-quality maternity care close to home.
• Supporting housing development: By making more land available for housing, we can help meet the growing demand for homes in Parkes.
• Supporting improved medical services in Parkes: It is a priority Parkes has the medical facilities and services it needs.
